Virtual mobile phone number for Colombia

I currently have a virtual mobile phone number for Colombia, South America, through Skype, which allows me to make and receive calls. Since Skype is shutting down, I’d like to know if FlyNumber offers a similar service, the pricing, and whether I can port my Skype number.

If porting isn’t an option, could you provide the cost of obtaining a new virtual mobile number (not a local or landline number) for Colombia, disclosing all the pricing details?

Thank you.

Unfortunately, at the moment, it does not seem we can port in Colombia numbers (we can offer you a new Colombia number, though).

Just to be 100% sure, you can DM/PM us the full phone number, and we can confirm this.

But do you offer virtual MOBILE phones for Colombia? Not landlines/local but mobile. If so, how does the pricing work? Could you be as specific as you can?

Yes, we have 57-30 Colombia mobile numbers, however, at the moment they don’t offer SMS capabilities.

The number would be $14.95 a month, and you can receive unlimited calls via something like sip2sip.

Otherwise, you might want to consider our phone system to make and receive calls from the number.

I can receive unlimited calls through something like sip2sip… Does that mean another platform is different from FlyNumber? And would those received calls be free? Is your own phone system an additional fee? And what’s the Panel about? Keep in mind that we are talking about a virtual mobile phone number for Colombia gotten as an individual, not as a business.

Yes, that’s correct.

Correct, when you answer with VoIP, it’s free. It’s not really another platform, more of an integration. We can send FlyNumber calls to any VoIP solution (as long as they allow it).

More info on that here

Correct, it’s an additional fee.

With the “panel,” you can manage the call flow/settings.

Short video here that sort of shows you what I mean.

That’s fine, you can use the number for personal use.

Is sip2sip the same as VoIP? In order to receive free calls can I choose either of those? Would VoIP or sip2sip allow me to make local calls to Colombian numbers too? And would they be free also? I understand these integrations are different from your own phone system and panel correct? So, If I get the Colombian virtual mobile phone number and use VoIP, I’d have to pay just $14.99/month right? Could I pay yearly and have a discount?

Correct, they are different. You can use sip2sip for outgoing calls; however, that may complicate things—you would need to contact them and make sure your Colombia FlyNumber is the outgoing caller ID.

As an alternative, we can offer you our phone system for 9.95 USD instead of the usual 14.95—this would make outgoing calls with us easier (still a per-minute rate to call out, though).

Correct, if you just use direct VoIP, it’s only the monthly fee on the number. We are already pretty competitively priced; however, if you choose to order the number for 12 months, we can get this done for 12.95 USD for the number itself. (PM your username)

I’m sorry, I got lost between the $9.95, $14.95, and $12.95. Could you explain each of those prices again? Can I have the virtual mobile phone number for Colombia, with free inbound and outgoing calls for $9.95 if I use your phone system? In fact, I would prefer to use just what you offer rather than having to connect/integrate with other apps/systems. Of course, it also depends on the price.

With the phone system enabled, you’d be paying for the phone number and the phone system.

So in total, if you choose to go yearly, that would be $9.95 a month for the phone system and $12.95 a month for the Colombia number (about $23 a month) - plus the per-minute rate to call out.

So if I plan to primarily use the virtual mobile phone number for Colombia to receive calls, but in some cases, I use sip2sip for outgoing calls, the total price I’d have to pay would be $14.95/month. If so, if I pay annually would that create be the same?

This should work; however, you may want to contact them to make sure they display your FlyNumber as the outgoing caller ID.

On our side, correct. You will need to pay sip2sip for outgoing calls.

We can get this down to an effective $12.95 a month if you prepay a year—just open a ticket referencing this post, and we will adjust the price.

If I wanted the virtual mobile phone for Colombia just to receive calls, not to make them, would the $12.95/month (a year) cover that? Would I have to use any other platforms just for that?

Yes, that would cover that.

Not really another “platform” - just a free app like Zoiper to use for receiving the calls. This blog post walks you through it.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

If I want to cancel the service or not renew, what do I have to do? Can I not save a specific payment method?

You can disable auto-renew on the number, and it will just cancel on its own when it expires.

More info/details here

You can also remove your PayPal subscription (which can be done via My FlyNumbers in PayPal directly).

If you used a credit card, you can just delete that credit card.

Yes, you can add funds manually via PayPal. Or add funds via a credit card directly and just remove the credit card afterward (from the bottom of My Account > Account Settings).

So, in sum, for a virtual mobile number for Colombia, just for receiving calls:

  • A 12.95 monthly payment for a year would be enough
  • I will have to open an account on SIP2SIP and then download an app like Zoiper to receive the calls free
  • In my FlyNumber account, I can manage payments, payment methods, and renewals.
  • Just disabling the auto-renew option on my FlyNumber account I can stop/cancel my subscription

Is there anything I’m missing? How do I start requesting Colombia’s virtual mobile phone number, and what steps should I follow to have it?

Correct, for the 12.95 a month offer you would need to prepay for a year, otherwise, the number is 14.95 per month.

Correct.

Yes, that’s correct.

Yes, you can also click ‘Cancel’ on the number itself from My account > My FlyNumbers (click details on your number).

Looks like you have it all covered, you can start by clicking sign up.

Thanks and standing by.

So, after opening an account with FlyNumber, what should I do next? Configuring Sip2Sip and Zopier?
There are 4 options in the second step of “How do you like to use your FlyNumber”. Following what I already describe and keeping in mind I’m going to use a free app like Zopier, which of those options should I choose: Easy connect with VoIP providers? And then, should I choose Sip2Sip? In the additional details, what should I write?
Could you please give me an organized step-by-step list of what I should do to get the virtual phone number, including where I have to pay and where to get my payment receipt for the whole year?
