So I’d have to pay $215.40 USD ($17.95/month) upfront instead of $12.95 monthly? Can’t you just issue a bill or charge me for the $155.4 USD ($12.95/month) at once and avoid refunds afterwards?
You can actually just place the order/create the account and not pay.
After you create the account, log in and add funds manually (the 155.40 USD).
We will take care of the rest.
Thanks.
So, I’ll add the fund manually and then proceed with the process of selecting the virtual mobile phone number for Colombia, selecting Easy Connect with VoIP providers, then Sip2Sip, and entering the sip2sip username?
Yes thats correct, that will work. Keep in mind you can change those settings anytime.
Ok. Lastly, if I have any issue with my virtual phone number or with the service or billing, how do I contact customer service or where do I see that option to reach you out?
The easiest way would be to open a ticket once you’re signed up.
I have two more questions: The order of the steps I have to follow is:
- Get the phone from your platform,
- Follow the instructions for using SIP2SIP to receive unlimited calls
- Pay or add a yearly payment (12.95/month).
When do I set up VoIP?
If this is not the correct order, please write it down correctly and clarify it.
And I still don’t understand how you would know that the payment covers the virtual number and the free calls received for a year for a price of 12.95/month.
On account setup, you can use this to get you going:
Set “host” to iptel.org and “user/extension” to music to quickly test your FlyNumber. You’ll hear music when you call the number.
More details here
The service is automatically set up to receive calls via VOIP for free. As far as payment, please refer to the previous post
Ok. So the correct order of the steps to set up everything correctly is:
- Create the FlyNumber account
- Add the $155.4 funds manually.
- Get the virtual mobile phone number for Colombia from my FlyNumber account
- Set up SIP2SIP to receive unlimited free calls
- Do the set to VoIP, (following: Set “host” to iptel.org and “user/extension” to music to quickly test your FlyNumber. You’ll hear music when you call the number.)
I need to clarify this to follow the process and avoid issues afterwards. Could you please confirm?
And, about that music for testing the virtual mobile phone number: Would the people who call to that number listen to that music too? No right? They will hear like they are calling to a normal mobile number in Colombia, correct?
Hi @Cl5
You are correct on all your points here.
Correct, anyone will be able to call the number and hear the music.
Can that music be removed? Just want people who call me to think they are calling a normal virtual mobile phone number in Colombia.
Yes of course, I was referring to the forwarding. You can change this anytime via the FlyNumber panel.
Can you please tell me the steps to do that? And removing the music will allow people who call to my virtual mobile number hear the ringing sound as they would normally do when calling to a mobile phone?
Hi
Please check out this document regarding changing the forwarding.
This blog post is about answering calls with VoIP.
I think you misunderstood. I want to know how to disable the music once a person calls so they get to hear a normal ringing tone.
To be honest, the whole process sounds complicated. Couldn’t it be more straight forward? You have to do a lot of steps to be able just to receive calls. Even though the price could be competitive to one point, the process involves to many steps and you can get confused.
Sorry about that, and yes, you can change the ringtone the caller hears via the Media tab in the Ring group. This would apply when using any VoIP and with our phone system.
In your case, since it seems you don’t want to use the phone system, the caller will just hear a standard ringtone depending on where they are calling from. So generally, they should hear a local Colombian ringtone.
It’s pretty straightforward. We will do the heavy lifting from here, and logs can help get you off the ground quicker if there are issues.
It’s not that straightforward if you consider that with some competitors, you just have to pick your number and pay for the service and that’s it. With you there are like 5 steps with two different set ups or so. That’s what I mean with “straightforward”.
Thanks for the feedback, and while the system is somewhat dated, it does work well. We’re actually right in the middle of major pane updates to make this easier.
