Forwarding SMS Number

I tried to forward this new number to my landline (VoIP) & it said invalid request.

I need to call my bank & no one has responded to this on my other thread. Can you please respond?

Thanks

Hi @OurFreeSociety

Updated.

Yes, initially when I set it up I followed your instructions, but then b/c I have to give it to my bank & they only allow one number, not my landline, I’m going to have to forward it to my landline, so I thought I did that.

Are you saying I can’t change it now to forward to my landline?

You can absolutely change the forwarding to your landline.

We have also added a courtesy credit to the account, as you need funds in your prepaid when forwarding calls to a regular phone number.

Ok, you didn’t address WHY I got that error.

I figured out it must have been because of there being no funds, but your error should have said that & you should have.

I wasted 2 days because of this.

If that’s not the reason for the error, then you have a problem, b/c I did what you said to do last time.

I have no other phone to test from, so I tried from my own line (where it’s forwarded to) & it should have still run through b/c I have call waiting) & it didn’t.

I’ll try to find someone else, but I don’t know how quickly I can find someone.

So I tested it & it works, but still, why didn’t it ring through even if I was on the phone & there’s call waiting on my end?

Also, how do I get rid of the name attached to the number?

And does it cost me money if I don’t pick up the phone?

Thanks

Thanks for the update.

The call history should have shown you “Insufficient funds.”

What happened when you called and you were on the phone? Did it go to the phone’s voicemail? If so, that would mean it’s the phone you are forwarding to that’s not handling the call correctly. Make sure to also test from a different operator than the phone you are forwarding calls to.

Where are you seeing this name? This is probably not something we can control, but perhaps we can look into it depending on where you are seeing the “name.”

No, but if the voicemail connects and picks up the call, it would start incurring charges there.

No, I mean when I tried to forward it the other day, I got an error which I gave you. If that wasn’t the reason for the error, then I don’t know why I got it.

No, I never let it go thru to the VM b/c I know then I would be charged.

I did test from another phone number eventually, but it still didn’t ring thru when I dialed it from the line it’s forwarded to.

On my call display.

Thanks

Thanks for the update.

This could cause a loop. Generally, you’ll always want to call the FlyNumber from a different phone than where you are forwarding the calls to.

Perhaps the number is saved in your contacts a certain way. This wouldn’t really be anything we can control from here.

LOL, I just got the number. I didn’t save anything anywhere. SMH

Perhaps its the TruCaller app or another app thats showing info?

Could you clarify where you are seeing the name? You are forwarding the FlyNumber to a regular phone number correct?

Is the name showing up on the phone where the calls are being forwarded? That would mean its the name of the person calling the FlyNumber.

My apologies, you are correct. It was the other number that was showing up on my call display because I called the fly number & it rang through on my line.

I’m not used to call forwarding numbers. LOL I haven’t done it for the last 30 years.

Thanks

No worries at all at and it happens to the best of us.

Call forwarding can get confusing sometimes, especially when forwarding to regular phone numbers.

If you need anything else at all please let us know.
