Example/Test Number

Hi, I am interested in getting setup with FlyNumber and I read that there are no guarentees for 2fa/OTP codes on the numbers. I was wondering if numbers hosting on FlyNumber would be recognized as VOIP numbers or real mobile numbers before making a purchase.

Hi @seiba,

We’ve seen good results from some numbers as far as OTP/verification, and others not so great - for example, USA NY 347 numbers may work better than other area codes in the US.

Mobile NL and Israeli Mobile numbers have done better than Canada numbers at times.

So it’s really a toss-up, and the main reason why across the board we can’t guarantee verifications texts.

Thanks, would putting the number (for example a US number) through a number verification service like twilio recognize it as a mobile number or a VOIP line?

Good question, and with US numbers via the Twilio phone number lookup, you’d generally see it’s a VoIP number. Others have shown “Mobile,” for example, Israeli mobile numbers.
