SMS for 2fa on a Canadian number

Hi. I’m a Canadian living in Norway, and I’d like to port my Canadian mobile phone number to Flynumber to save money on the expensive mobile service which I almost don’t use anyway. For me, a crucial part of the service is the ability to receive 2fa authentication SMS from Canadian banks so I could log in. However, I’ve seen the following answer to a question about SMS: “Just remember, while regular SMS will reliably come through to your email, 2FA or shortcode messages might not always be supported.”

With that in mind, does anyone have more information on this? How can I determine whether or not the SMS service will work for 2fa in my case?

Thank you for considering us. Our US/Canada numbers have done well with 2FA; however, as stated in the docs, it’s not something we can guarantee.

You may want to order a fresh Canada number to test; however, I’m not sure that works with your bank situation.
