As we are engaged in business activities, I would like to ask you a few questions regarding obtaining an Indonesian cloud phone number. We would be very grateful if you could answer them:
1. Is it possible to obtain a phone number (SIM card) in Indonesia, what needs to be done for this, and how much will it cost?
2. Is it possible to obtain a long-term corporate number for the company, what needs to be provided for this? Register a phone number for the company.
3. Is it possible to register a number for an individual if it is not possible to register it for a company?
P.S. Tourist numbers and 3-month numbers are not considered.
4. What documents are required to register an Indonesian phone number?
5. Can an Indonesian phone number receive SMS messages from a bank (BRI bank), and are there any restrictions associated with this?
Thank you for your attention! I look forward to your reply.
1. Obtaining an Indonesian Number
We provide virtual phone numbers (DIDs) for Indonesia, not physical SIM cards. Local numbers start at $59.95/month and toll-free numbers at $39.95/month. These are cloud-based numbers that forward calls to any device or VoIP system you choose.
2. Corporate Number Registration
Yes, you can register a number under your company name. For business registration of local Indonesian numbers, you’ll need:
Company incorporation certificate
Your personal details (full name and contact number)
Indonesian address with utility bill as proof of address
3. Individual Registration Alternative
If business registration isn’t possible, you can register under personal information. This requires:
Indonesian passport or ID card
Full name and contact phone number
Indonesian address with utility bill proof
Note: Toll-free Indonesian numbers have more flexible requirements and accept worldwide addresses, which may be easier if you don’t have an Indonesian address.
4. SMS Capability - Important Limitation
Indonesian virtual numbers do not currently support SMS messaging. This means the number cannot receive SMS messages from BRI Bank or any other service. The numbers support voice calls only.
If receiving bank SMS is essential for your business operations, you may need to consider alternative solutions or use a different country’s number that supports SMS.
