Hi,
I’m specifically interested in knowing if this Canadian number will support receiving SMS verification/OTP messages from Atlas Earth mobile game / Atlas Reality company?
Also, just to clarify, your service will charge me a flat montly rate to keep the phone number active + additonal charges for every inbound SMS I receive from this game?
Regards,
Sasha
Hi @sashaskull,
Most of our Canadian numbers can receive SMS. Look for the “SMS in” badge on the number you’re considering on the coverage page — if it’s there, texts come through, short codes included.
As for Atlas Earth, honestly we can’t promise their codes will arrive. It comes down to the sender: some services block virtual numbers, some don’t, and we haven’t had anyone report back on that particular app. Canadian numbers do get regular texts and short-code messages fine, so there’s a decent chance, but if the game offers a “call me instead” option that’s usually the safer bet. There’s a bit more on this here.
On pricing, you’d only pay the monthly rate for the number. Incoming texts on Canadian numbers are free, no per-message charge. You’d only see SMS charges if you send messages from the number. More on that here.
