Also, after getting my virtual number, if I stop paying for a few months and then start again will I still have access to the same number?

Usually, no more than a couple of hours on new accounts; however, in your case, you ordered a number that requires registration - this usually takes 24 hours or less on business days.

Generally, no. We could try getting the number back if and when you start again, but there is no guarantee it will be available. Once you stop paying for a number and it’s passed its expiration date, there is an approximate 20-day window where the number can be easily restored. After that, it’s returned to the “pool” of numbers, and it can get assigned to another person/company.
