Inquiry regarding Japan National (050) number availability for RetellAI integration

Dear FlyNumber Support Team,

I am currently attempting to purchase a Japan National (+81 50) number to integrate with my RetellAI SIP setup. However, when I select “Japan” in the “Add FlyNumbers” section, the “Select a city” dropdown remains empty, and I cannot proceed.

Could you please confirm if Japan 050 numbers are currently out of stock? If so, do you have an estimated timeline for replenishment, or is it possible to manually allocate a number to my account? My SIP details are already configured in the panel.

Thanks for posting and considering us.

There was a major change to how Japan handles and issues phone numbers recently—apparently there was widespread fraud, and they are not offering new numbers at the moment. So yes, they are out of stock. We’re working with our partners to see if we can get them back ASAP.

Thank you for the detailed explanation. I appreciate you sharing the information about the recent regulatory changes in Japan. It makes total sense why they are currently out of stock.

Since I need to get my project up and running immediately, I have decided to take an alternative approach for now.
