Yes, in a very general sense you can receive SMS messages from the United States to your Australian FlyNumber mobile number. We don’t limit who can send texts to your number from any country.
That said, the success of receiving international SMS depends largely on the carrier sending the message. Our AU mobile numbers happen to have pretty good SMS reception rates overall.
It’s worth noting that SMS delivery is generally most reliable when messages are sent locally within the same country - this is a general characteristic of phone numbers and SMS technology, not specific to FlyNumber. International SMS can sometimes experience delays or delivery issues depending on the sending carrier’s international routing agreements.
